Bridesmaids gifts for beach wedding?
Author: admin
Hi,
I have 6 bridesmaids for my October beach wedding. I have three shades of blue as my colors and two girls will wear a color. I was thinking of giving pashmina wraps as gifts since it will probably get chilly out. I was wondering what color to get since they will be in three different shades (a light pool blue, a medium tropical blue, and a deeper marine blue). I thought white at first but I think that would look too stark with all the dresses. I also thought about doing a contrasting blue (so the girls wearing light blue would get dark blue wraps) but I am not sure what to do about the medium blue dresses. Help! Maybe someone has a better suggestion for gifts or is good with colors. PS i do not want to get beach totes! Thanks!
Why not a pearl? Pearls and beaches go hand in hand, and they can wear them at the wedding. A single pearl necklace is relatively inexpensive (get a sterling chain if you want to cut costs), and timeless. http://www.asinglepearlnecklace.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/11/single-pearl-necklace-and-pearl-earrings.jpg
As for the blues…I’m not sure of your color theme, but creme may work better than white (it won’t be as stark). Yellow is opposite blue on the color wheel, meaning it compliments blue nicely. You could find shades of yellow or gold that work well with your other colors. Brown and tan will also go with blues, as will the right gray.
If you still want to keep the theme beachy, you can get monogrammed beach towels with your ladies’ initial (first name may be best if they’re not married, as last names are subject to change). They could be blue to match the dress.

green beret or marine sniper?

before i say anything else, i just want to make it clear that i DO know about selection process, difficulty of the training, all of that good stuff that would say how hard it is to become either of these.
SO…i need some advice on which would be a better goal for me to go for. im really smart and athletic, i dont let people tell me what i cant do, im adventurous, and i want to join the military to fight for my country. i want the respect of the marines, but i also want all the training of the green berets(stuff a marine wouldnt be trained for, like paratrooper training). i wouldnt want to be a regular army infantryman if i failed though, marine infantryman would be fine though. so to wrap this up…which should i go for?
You can always be a Marine in the infantry field and take any paratrooper course, or any combat course from any branch you want, and if you want to be in Special Ops. what is better than a green beret is being in MARSOC (Marine corps Special Operations Command) just try out for Marine Force Recon and if you make it you are good, and if you are Realy good will be selected for MARSOC.
if you choose the USMC it is a Great decision to have chosen the best branch of the U.S. military. to make a difference in an elite unit and become part of a world renowned, respected and feared fighting force to be a United States Marine.

(ya sorry for the sorta confusing question i didnt know how to really word it)
It’s just that marine science seems so wrapped up and it astounds me that we seem to know more about our universe than our own planet’s waters but i dont see what we dont know about our oceans. Can you please verify that ur a marine biologist or scientist or have a valid website or say something that would make me trust your information please? Im doing a school project on how science would be advanced in the future and i decided to do it on marine biology and i need a way to get started so please help(:
main problem… peolpe can’t see whats going on in the sea. out of sight out of mind sort of thing. This means that there is not much information on the population numbers , migration patterns ect of many marine species. Only when there is a collapse of fisheries , such as North sea cod . people start to take notice.
problems:
hard to gather data on marine species. information is crucial to make policies (conservation plans)
2. unsustainable fisheries… due to better fishing technology e.g gps sytems an larger vessels.
3. bycatch other animals caught up in the fihing nets/lines. for example turtles, sea birds, dolphins.
4. Climate change… many species move towards the north and south pole , where it is cooler when seas are warming. this changes the position of prey and predators and therefore impacts food chains. reduction in sea ice is a problem for polor bears because they have to spend more time looking for food and less time on reproduction.
climate chage can also impact coastal areas. a good example is the sea turtles. they lay their eggs o beaches , however as lea level rises this reduces the amount of beach avaliable for laying nests. Turtes also have environmental sex deterination, where the egs develop in to males or females depending on the temperature. if the egs are incubated more than 30 dc then they wil develop into females . climate change may cause a population with a lot maore females than males.
Future for Fisheries
1. marine protected zones…. these are areas where vessels are not allowed to fish or are limted on how much they can fish . only a couple of marine protected zones exit at the moment . one example is Lundy island , devon. these areas allow fish numbers to increase.
2. Quotas … give fisheries a certain amunt of time, in certain areas in which they are allowed to fish.
3. By catch …. the future for reducing bycatch of endangered animals is looking promising as scintists are developing differnt technologies to reduce bycatch. for example
pingers…… on the boat. make a pinging noise , scare off other animals but not the fish. however a problem in the future is , is that these animals may become custom to the pingers and start to assosiate the noise with food.
change in the bait used , sometimes are added with a strane taste.
change in net designs… for example larger gaps. or have devises to allow bycatch to escape but not the fish . for example turtle excluder devices.
The future for marine science , will mainly be finding crucuial information about marine species. such as where their prefered habbitats are , where do they migrate to , how their populations are changing in size ect . It’s not that exciting but it is crucial to learn more about the marine environment and the species in them before truelly effective conservation plans and laws can be put in place . therefore scientists are developing technology that allows this data to be collected. for example satelite tags , pop up tags, implants . genetic analysis . counting animals that nest on beaches like turtles. counting numbers of for example dolphins seen from planes .
I’m in the third year of a degree in conservation. You will need to do research to get more examples…. try google scholor , many are free to read ( if they have blue writting to the left of them). This is just a quick jot down of a few bits I remember , but it might give you some ideas.
hope it’s sort of helpfull

Can i enlist in the Marines with a quarter sleeve?
Author: admin
I’m enlisting in a few months, but i have a quarter sleeve tattoo on my right arm. It’s not vulgar, sexist, racist etc. in anyway. I’ve been reading about the new limits on tattoos in the Marine Corps and would like some clarification. My sleeve ends dead center on my bicep and wraps 360 degrees around and then goes on to my chest. It’s a solid three inches from my elbow, it can be almost compltely covered up with a t-shirt, it just leaks out by about an inch. Will i need a waiver at MEPS? or have no chance at making it into the Marine Corps?
Sorry that this is another tattoo related question. I have been reading others responses but they seem to be questions regaurding tattoos on the forearm and such.
Thanks
Oh tough one theres a new tattoo regulation put into effect a few months ago, i know enlisted CANT get any tattoos that pass the PT uniform look it up in the MarineCorpsTimes or ask recruiter, hope you can man
