Sanjay Dutt knows the secret of a hidden treasure in a sunken ship but is reluctant to ferret it out, despite buddy Akshay Kumar’s pleas. It is only when his younger brother Zayed needs to be bailed out from a gang of crooks that Sanjay consents to go underwater in the azure Bahamas.

Bollywood goes underwater and comes up a winner. Blue is fresh and fulsome, boasting of some great deep sea shots ( by Pete Zuccarini, cinematographer, Pirates of the Caribbean fame), stunning above sea level action sequences, a crackling background music score and sound design by India’s two Oscar winners (AR Rahman and Resul Pookutty), a short and engaging reel length that keeps the proceedings pithy, two hot girls (Lara Dutta and Katrina Kaif too in a glam guest role) and a whole lot of guy stuff….Like, bare-bodied Akshay swimming with the sharks and stingrays, lean and mean Zayed blasting away on designer bikes, Sanjay Dutt, sadly with a paunch, sparring with Akshay in the boxing ring and the threesome donning their diving gear to discover a hidden treasure in picture postcard Bahamas.

All this, when they are not pumping up the adrenalin with some rumbustious chiggy wiggy with Kylie Minouge who gets to shake a leg to the quintessential bhangra beat too, with our desi Singh is King.

Yes, Blue, touted as Bollywood’s most expensive film (Rs 100 crore) dazzles with style more than substance. More than the storyline, it is the action sequences, the chases, the marine splendour and the opulent canvas of the film that gives you bang for your buck. Of course, you do wish the sharks were meaner, the treasure hunt more perilous, the danger more palpable instead of a climax that wraps up tamely. But the underwater ease with which the trio discovers the sunken loot is compensated with some stunning biker mayhem, atop trains, forests and the alleys of Bangkok and the Bahamas. Add to this, some neatly choreographed song-dance sequences, coupled with moodswings between dosti and dushmani amongst the main protagonists and you have a film that keeps the popcorn crunchy till curtain call.

Most of the drama springs from the unpredictable friendship between fisherman Akshay Kumar and his employee Sanjay Dutt who happens to be the best diver in the Bahamas. Is Akshay truly his buddy or does he need his diving skills to unearth a treasure that lies hidden in Lady in Blue, a British ship that sank in 1949 enroute to India? The entire first half is spent by Akshay in cajoling a reluctant Sanjay Dutt to jump into the ocean and retrieve the treasure. But Dutt has a sordid past which precludes him from taking the big leap, until it becomes imperative to do so…He must fish out the moolah to save his errant kid brother, Zayed Khan, from a biker gang that is desperate for its pound of flesh. Needless to say, the happiest person in this troika is Akshay, the archetypal gold digger who believes greed is truly good. Or does he have another motive up his dapper sleeve?

Amongst the lead players, Sanjay looks a bit out of shape; Zayed is fresh and adequate, while Akshay keeps you guessing about his ethical moorings. The girls, Lara and Katrina, sashay down the screen with aplomb, adding the requisite oomph in this high-on-visuals drama. Go, feast your eyes on brawn and cheesecake.

Candice Monte Spa Director Gurney’s Inn & Spa Montauk NY at the Hamptons International Film Festival on VVH-TV with Greg Schimizzi

The Gurney family built Gurney’s Inn in 1926. When Nick Monte visited Gurney’s in 1956 he fell in love with the magnificent panoramic ocean view and soon after he purchased the inn. In 1979, he completed the International Health and Beauty Spa. Our Spa, built in the European tradition, is the only true Thalasso Center in the continental United States. Thalasso Therapy comes from the Greek word for “sea”, and refers to a variety of treatments that use sea water and seaweed, each designed to tone, moisturize and revitalize the body and skin, and in many cases to improve circulation.

A Thalasso program includes hydro massage in specially designed hydrotherapy tubs filled with filtered sea water, exercise in heated sea water pools, body treatments using seaweed products, massage, relaxation, good nutrition, and exercise outside in the sea air.

Sea water has remarkable properties. Sea water contains 120 chemical compounds in the form of salts and dissolved gases. It is very rich in vitamins, minerals and trace elements in very similar proportions to the human blood plasma. It also contains microorganisms that produce antibiotic, antiviral and antibacterial substances. Sea water is heated to 82 degrees in our indoor pool, and 94 degrees in our hydrotherapy baths to optimize exchanges with the body. Heated sea water allows minerals and trace elements to pass through the barrier of the skin. The ions that penetrate into the body will selectively wander and fix themselves in the organs where they are most needed. The body recharges itself with minerals and trace elements, therefore detoxifying and rebalancing all body functions.

Seaweed, the crop of the sea, has an even greater concentration of sea water minerals, and provides a virtual pharmacy of beneficial elements to be used for our body wraps. Seaweed products used in our Spa are created by Spa Technologies, using the rich seaweeds harvested off the coast of Brittany in France. The special properties of seaweed help the elasticity of skin tissue, increase circulation, stimulate metabolism, and promote detoxification.
The sea air, rich in negative ions and sea minerals plays a very special part in a Thalasso Therapy program. Beach walking at the edge of the sea promotes the inhalation of the minerals, which are then absorbed through the lungs directly into the blood stream. The high concentration of negative ions, which is so characteristic of a healthy climate, contributes to the vitalization of the body.

Another important element of Thalasso Therapy is aquatic exercise. Exercise in our heated sea water pool allows for movement and flexibility not available on land. The increase in hydrostatic pressure against the body increases circulation, stimulates the kidneys and promotes digestion.

The effect of Thalasso Therapy is profound. Thalasso Therapy treatments have a beneficial effect on the skin, cellular exchanges, the respiratory system and the body as a whole with a better oxygenation, increased elimination of toxins and a revitalization of the mind and body. The different orientations allow you to find a program to fit your needs focusing on wellness, relaxation and well-being, beauty, slimming and body shaping. Thalasso Therapy is effective in treating people with circulatory conditions such as hypertension & arteriosclerosis; chronic respiratory conditions such as asthma and bronchitis, fatigue, stress and forms of chronic inflammation such as arthritis.

Experience the living and healing water of the only authentic Thalasso Therapy Center in the continental United States.. Let us design a Thalasso program for you. To experience the unique balance created by the healing properties of the sea, try our Marine Kur Treatment, Sea Water Hydrotherapy Massage or a Sea water Hydrotherapy Bath, which combine many of the elements of Thalasso Therapy.

Whenever I mention New Caledonia to someone, they invariably ask, “where is that?” Known as “the world’s largest lagoon,” and enchantingly beautiful in so many ways, I think it’s been a conspiracy to place it under wraps so that less tourists can keep this gorgeous South Pacific retreat to themselves!

Located in the heart of the South Pacific, 1500 kilometres from Australia and 1700 kilometres from New Zealand, New Caledonia is a large archipelago that is over 500 kilometres in length, principally composed of the mainland, Isle of Pines and the Loyalty Islands. It is surrounded by a huge coral reef, which is the main reason that most of the people that are familiar with this gorgeous part of the world are divers. Native flora and fauna are protected in vast natural reserves and the marine environment is truly blessed with beautiful and diverse underwater scenery. Many travelers to the mainland will hop on a plane and visit Ile des Pins (Pine Island) with its exquisite landscapes both on land and sea.

New Caledonia belongs to France, so the main language spoken is French (with 30 Melanesian dialects) and the money used is the Pacific franc. There are some 230,000 inhabitants of Melanesian, European, Polynesian and Asian origin. Tontouta international airport is located around a 45 minute drive from the capital city of Noumea. Electricity is 220 volts, and the tap water is safe to drink!

Between these points are exposed carboniferous sedimentary basin shale (over 340 million years old) that comes in amazing shapes caused by slipping, folding and other geological movements. This is why the Loophead area has become very popular for geological study and research. It’s painfully obvious that I’m an alto isn’t it?
Sung By – thejayst3r
Lyrics By – thejayster
Art & Video – thejayster
Composed By – Yuuyu
Original By – Hatsune Miku
meh, I think I did okay, I was more concerned about the lyrics, because this song has a really deep meaning (ha, see what i did there? ‘deep’ ? in fact ’sea’ what i did there…. nevermind)
and this one has some sort of attempt at a video! yay!
i had a really cool effect at the end of the first chorus, which helped to hide my lack of vocal range, but then i forgot how to do it again! bummer…
please rate, comment, and favourite (constructive critisiscm always welcomed!)
Lyrics:

Shinkai Shoujo

I’ve sunk so far past where I can comfortably breathe
Why bother opening my eyes so that I can see?
At this rate I don’t know where I’ll end up to be;
Past where another soul could find me.

I don’t where to turn, I don’t what to do.
A single ray of light suddenly shines through.
I reach out my hand, and it touches me.
But the tide carries me off back into the sea.

What on earth could that ray of light have been?
Easily the purest thing I have ever seen.
Who was the liar unconsciously giving of that bioluminescence?

Shinkai Shoujo. Still sinking down
Hiding herself in the shadows that she wraps around.
Shinkai Shoujo. Yet she still wants to know,
For she’s found the person that makes her heart beat so.

This place where I am has neither day nor night;
And still insomnia I continue to fight.
You were beautiful as you freely,
Swam down here for all to see.

And then once again I saw that ray of light;
As our eyes met in this endless night.
When you tried your best, I’m sorry to admit that I lied to You.

Shinkai Shoujo. Sinking under her own weight.
Cheeks burning brightly as she accepts her fate.
Shinkai Shoujo. The black ocean still won’t ,
Let her show a heart that’s 100% own.

My clothes have quickly been turned into rags.
And to see me smile would just be sad.
How could I ever face somebody that I know?
Oh, Just leave me alone!

Emotions that I felt quickly changed into something new.
In an instant you had suddenly disappeared from my view.

Deep fear fills her now, she cannot see you.
The shadows of mistakes have hidden him from view.
Reaching out her hand, she confirms what he knew.
“See, you had a beautiful colour on the inside of you.”

Shinkai Shoujo. Her arm is raised.
The marine sings a song of faithful praise.
Shinkai Shoujo. She still wants to know,
For she’s found the person that makes her heart beat so.

I will fly away from here with you; right now.
